New

  • Internal Comments

Mark a comment as Internal to keep it, its files and its notifications away from guests, so you can talk about a client's task without the client reading along.

  • Comment Reactions

React to a comment with an emoji instead of writing a reply, and hover a reaction to see who added it; reactions don't send notifications.

  • Time Tracking

Log time on a task by hand (such as 1h 30m) or with a timer that keeps running in the top bar across pages and devices, mark time as billable, and see the totals in each task's Time section.

  • Time Report

See the time logged in your projects by project, person, task or day for any date range, filter it by project, person or billable time, and download it as a CSV file.

  • Forms

Build a form for a project in Project Settings and share it with your team or, through a public link, with anyone without an account; every response becomes a task with its answers, due date, priority and custom fields filled in.

  • Automations

Create rules in Project Settings → Rules, such as when a task is moved to Done set its priority to Low and add a comment, and they move, assign, label, date, comment on or notify about tasks for you, with a log of every run.

  • Calendar Feed

See your tasks with due dates in Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar: create a private link for My Tasks in your profile, or for a project from its menu, and subscribe to it in your calendar app.

  • Email to Task

Turn on Email in a project's settings to get a private address for it, then forward or send an email there from your account's address and it becomes a task with the message and its attachments.

Improved

  • Safer File Names

Attached file names no longer keep invisible text-direction or zero-width characters that could disguise a file's real type, so files brought in again from an Asana import show their names without them.

  • Email Replies Become Comments

When you reply in an email thread that already became a task and send the reply to the project's address, it is added to that task as a comment with its attachments instead of creating a new task.

New

  • Task Numbers

Every task now has a short number made from its project's key, such as BDT-46: search for it, mention it in a comment or description to link the task, or copy it from the task panel.

  • Command Palette

Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) or use the Jump To button to go straight to a project or task, open a task by its number, or run common actions.

  • Keyboard Shortcuts

Press ? to see every shortcut, and type G then H, M, P or I to go to Home, My Tasks, Projects or Notifications.

  • Follow Tasks

Follow a task to hear about its comments and its status, due date, assignee and file changes; you follow the tasks you create, are assigned to, comment on or are mentioned in automatically.

  • Email Notifications

Get an email straight away when you're assigned or @mentioned and a daily digest for everything else, and choose what you receive under Profile → Notifications.

  • Mute a Project

Mute a busy project from its menu to stop its notifications, while assignments and direct @mentions still reach you.

  • One-Click Unsubscribe

Every notification email has a link that turns notification emails off in one click.

  • Recurring Tasks

Make a task repeat daily, on weekdays, weekly, monthly, yearly or on a custom schedule, see its next dates, and skip an occurrence or stop repeating at any time.

  • Calendar View

A Calendar tab on projects and My Tasks shows your tasks by month or week: drag a task to reschedule it, plan undated tasks from the No Date tray, and see upcoming repeats of recurring tasks.

  • Checklists

Add a checklist to any task, tick items off, reorder them, paste several lines at once or turn an item into a subtask, and see progress such as 3/5 on rows and cards.

  • Duplicate a Task

Copy a task into the same or another project and choose what comes with it, such as subtasks, the checklist and attachments.

  • Bulk Edit

Select several tasks in a list, board or My Tasks and change their status, priority, assignees, labels, due date or section in one go from the action bar.

  • Paste to Create Tasks

Paste several lines into quick add to create one task per line.

  • Undo and Redo

Press Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on a Mac) or click Undo on the confirmation to reverse a change to your tasks, and Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo it.

  • Group By

Group a project's list or board by status, assignee or priority, and drag a task between groups to change it.

  • Saved Views

Save the filters, sorting and grouping you use as a personal view, or pin a view so everyone in the project can use it.

  • Completed Tasks Filter

Lists, boards and My Tasks show incomplete tasks by default, with one click to see completed tasks, all tasks or those completed in the last 7 days.

  • Due Date Filters

Filter tasks that are overdue, due today, due this week, due next week or have no due date.

  • What's New

This changelog lists each day's changes, and What's New in the account menu opens it.

  • Cancelled Tasks

Mark a task as cancelled when it won't be done: it leaves your incomplete tasks and the project's progress, shows struck through, and you can filter for cancelled tasks or reopen them at any time.

  • Close Subtasks First

Turn on a project setting so a task can only be completed once its subtasks are done or cancelled, and close them all at once with Close Them Too.

  • Complete and Archive Sections

Mark a section complete to collapse it in the list and hide it from the board, or archive a section with all its tasks and bring it back from Archived Sections in the project menu.

  • Trash

Deleted tasks now go to the Trash for 30 days, where you can restore them with their subtasks, comments and files or delete them for good; open it from the sidebar or a project's menu.

  • Timeline View

Plan a project on its new Timeline tab: drag bars to move or stretch tasks, zoom from days to quarters, draw dependencies between tasks and spot the ones that start too early, then print it or save it as a PDF.

  • Milestones

Mark a task as a milestone to show it as a diamond on the timeline and in lists, boards and the calendar, see the upcoming ones on the project overview, and bring them over from Asana.

  • Custom Fields

Add your own fields to projects, such as text, numbers with a currency or unit, dates, single or multiple choice with colours, people and checkboxes, then fill them in from the task panel or straight in the list.

  • Filter, Sort and Group by Custom Fields

Filter, sort and group lists and boards by your custom fields, drag tasks between groups to change a value, and save the result as a view.

  • Custom Field Library

Manage every custom field of your workspace in one place under Workspace settings, and reuse the same field across projects.

  • My Tasks Across All Workspaces

If you belong to more than one workspace, switch My Tasks, its calendar and the Home card to All Workspaces to see every task assigned to you in one list, each marked with its workspace and opened and edited right there.

  • Project Templates

Save any project as a template, with its sections, tasks, subtasks, checklists, labels, milestones, dependencies, repeat rules and custom fields, then start new projects from it with every date moved to your chosen start date and weekends skipped if you like.

  • Task Templates

Save a task with its subtasks and checklist as a template, pin it to the projects that use it, and add it from quick add, the Add Task menu or the command palette.

  • Starter Templates

Start from seven ready-made templates for a product launch, sprint planning, employee onboarding, bug tracking, a content calendar, a recruitment pipeline or an event, and copy any of them into your workspace to adapt it.

  • Share Templates Between Workspaces

Export a template as a file and import it into another workspace; people are never included, and fields and labels are matched by name.

  • Complete Archive Export

Export a whole project, or as a workspace admin the whole workspace, as one .zip with the data in JSON and both CSV formats, every attached file in a folder per task, a README and a checksum for every file.

  • Download All Attachments

Download every file attached to a task and its comments as one .zip from the task panel.

  • Update Tasks From a Spreadsheet

Export a project as Excel CSV, edit titles, statuses, dates, assignees, labels, sections, custom fields and more in Excel or Google Sheets, then import the file back to update those tasks after checking a preview of every change.

  • Undo an Update Import

Undo a spreadsheet update from its import page: every field goes back unless someone changed it since, and tasks the import created move to the trash.

  • Guests

Invite clients and contractors by email from a project's Members page as Guest (can edit) or Guest (comment only); they see only the projects you add them to, and guests are free, up to 5 per workspace on the free plan.

  • Guest Privacy

Guests see the names of the people in their projects but never their email addresses, and can't browse your members, other projects, labels or templates.

  • Manage Guests

Workspace admins can turn guest invitations off, see every guest with their projects under Settings → Guests, and make a guest a member or a member a guest.

  • Install Donevoy as an App

Install Donevoy from Chrome or Edge on Android and desktop, or add it to your Home Screen on iPhone and iPad, to open it in its own window with a home screen icon and shortcuts to My Tasks, New Task and Search.

  • Push Notifications

Turn on push notifications under Profile → Notifications to hear about assignments and @mentions on your phone or computer, choose which kinds of notification are pushed, and hide task titles from the push text if you prefer.

  • Offline Notice

When your connection drops, Donevoy now tells you that you're offline and that changes can't be saved until you're back.

  • New Version Notice

When a new version of Donevoy is released while you have it open, a message offers to reload so you get it straight away.

Improved

  • Better on Phones and Tablets

Task lists show full task names with their details underneath, filters open from one Filters button, tabs scroll sideways, settings tables fit the screen, search opens full screen on phones, and the installed app stays clear of the notch.

  • Archived Items in Search

Search leaves archived tasks and projects out unless you tick Include Archived, which shows them with an Archived label.

  • Avatar Colours

Each member of a workspace gets their own avatar colour, so people are easy to tell apart everywhere in the app.

  • Assignee Names

List rows and board cards show the assignee's name next to their avatar.

  • Invited Assignees on Imported Tasks

Imported tasks show the people who were invited but haven't joined yet, instead of looking unassigned.

  • Cleaner Labels and Cards

Labels appear as coloured dots, and board cards have a lighter look when you hover over them.

  • Undo Deleting Tasks

Deleting one or several tasks can now be undone from the message that appears or with Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on a Mac).

  • Asana Custom Fields Import

Custom fields from Asana now come in as real fields with their options and values, and importing the same project again reuses them.

  • Custom Fields in Exports

Project exports now include your custom fields, as extra columns at the end of CSV files and in full in the JSON file.

  • Branded Emails

Emails from Donevoy now come from no-reply@donevoy.com and use the Donevoy colours, with an orange button and header.

  • Privacy Policy

Our service emails are now sent through Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, India, and the privacy policy's list of service providers says so.

Fixed

  • Unexpected Sign-Outs

Reloading the page or using several tabs at once no longer signs you out.

  • Short Connection Drops

When Donevoy is briefly unreachable, for example during an update, the app reconnects by itself instead of signing you out.

  • Sidebar on Profile and Notifications

Opening your profile or notifications directly no longer leaves the sidebar without your workspace and projects.

  • Layout on Phones

Pickers, the notification panel, project settings and tables now fit small screens without scrolling sideways.

  • Safer CSV Exports

Cells in CSV exports that start with characters a spreadsheet could run as a formula are now protected in the plain CSV file too, not only in the Excel version.

New

  • Donevoy Launched

Donevoy, project and task management for teams, is now open in early access and free to use.

  • Sign-Up and Workspaces

Create an account, set up a workspace for your company and invite your team by email.

  • Projects, Sections and Tasks

Organise work into projects and sections, with tasks and subtasks that have assignees, labels, priorities, dates and dependencies.

  • List and Board Views

Work in a sortable, filterable list or on a Kanban board, and drag tasks between sections and columns.

  • My Tasks

See everything assigned to you across projects in one place, grouped by when it's due.

  • Comments and Mentions

Discuss a task in its comments, with formatting and @mentions that notify your teammates.

  • File Attachments

Attach files to tasks and comments, with upload progress and secure downloads.

  • Activity and Notifications

See what changed on every task and project, and get notified in the app when you're assigned, mentioned or a task is due soon.

  • Search

Search all tasks and projects in your workspace, with the matching words highlighted.

  • Asana Import

Bring a project over from an Asana JSON or CSV export: preview it, match people to members or invite them, and import it in one step.

  • Export

Download any project as JSON, CSV or an Excel-ready CSV whenever you like.

  • Workspace Settings

Workspace admins manage members, roles, invitations and labels in one place.

  • Account and Sessions

Change or reset your password, and see and sign out your other sessions from your profile.

  • Light and Dark Themes

Choose light, dark or your system's setting from the account menu.

Improved

  • New Design

The app and donevoy.com have a fresh look with the Poppins typeface, the Donevoy logo and clearer buttons, cards and menus.

  • Imported Work for Invited People

People invited during an Asana import get the tasks and comments that were theirs in Asana as soon as they join.

  • HTML Attachments

HTML files can now be attached to tasks, and they always download instead of opening in the browser.

Fixed

  • Invitations From Imports

People you invite while importing a project now receive their invitation email.

  • Sidebar Project List

New, renamed, archived and deleted projects now show up in the sidebar straight away.
